Hoffmann Brothers has a generous vacation policy. We believe an employee should have time to take a break from work and vacation is one of the ways we show our appreciation.
At the 1st year anniversary, the employee is awarded 5 days’ vacation. At the 2nd year through the 5th year anniversaries, the employee is awarded 10 days’ vacation each year. At the 6th year through 9th year anniversaries the employee is awarded 15 days’ vacation and at the 10th year anniversary the employee is awarded 20 days’ vacation.
An employee can also use vacation days when they are unexpectedly off from work whether due to sickness, personal or when off due to no available work. Vacation days roll over and are not lost if not used.
Hoffmann Brothers recognizes the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
We also recognize any one of these holidays should one of them fall on a non-regular work day. If the employee’s normal scheduled working days are Monday through Friday and one of these holidays fall on a Saturday, the Friday before will be observed. If the holiday falls on a Sunday then the following Monday will be observed; the employee would not be scheduled to work on these days.
If the employee’s normal scheduled working days are Tuesday through Saturday and one of these holidays fall on a Sunday, the Saturday before will be observed. If the holiday falls on a Monday, the following Tuesday would be observed; the employee would not be scheduled to work on these days.
Hoffmann Brothers provides a 401K Retirement Plan for eligible full-time employees. Sign up is quarterly. Quarterly and annual meetings are given for help in signing up, funds election/information, investment advice and review of how the
plan and funds have done over the past quarter/year. Hoffmann Brothers matches employee contributions at the rate of 100% for up to 3% of the employee’s deferred payroll amount. An additional 50% match for each additional percentage deferred up to a 5% deferral is given. The maximum company match is 4%.
We have a generous vesting schedule. Vesting is the percentage of funds in your account matched by the company that become available to you on top of the monies you contributed.
After 2 years and employee is 20% vested and each year the vesting increases by 20%; at the 6th year the employee is fully vested.

Technicians and office staff have the opportunity to get a $40 bonus by getting a vote for the best comment submitted by a customer.
Hoffmann Brothers reimburses technicians monthly for the utilization of their smart phones for company use in communicating with the office and other employees. Install technicians are reimbursed $40 per month and service technicians are reimbursed $50 per month through payroll. The reimbursement is meant to help with additional costs that may be incurred in using your phone for company use such as increasing your plan’s data, minutes, etc. or paying for insurance on the phone.
Hoffmann Brothers will reimburse any new technician up to $100 for the purchase of a smart phone and accessories if they do not already have one. Hoffmann Brothers will also reimburse the technician up to $100 for the repair or replacement of a damaged smart phone. We strongly encourages keeping insurance on the phone.
Hoffmann Brothers will give each technician an annual $250 credit at the beginning of each year or at the beginning of employment. This credit may be used by technicians for the repair, replacement or purchase of new tools. Any remaining credit will carry over to the next year. The tool credit cannot be redeemed for cash value.
Hoffmann Brothers allows technicians to use the company’s vendor accounts to make personal tool purchases. The maximum tool advance is $400. Increments of $75 per pay for Journeyman or $50 per pay for apprentices will be deducted from payroll until the tool advance is paid.
Hoffmann Brothers provides fair and attractive wages and benefits to all employees; we award employees for their skills, abilities and eagerness to advance through additional training.
Employees can change departments or field of expertise at any time as long as an opening exists and Hoffmann Brothers will assist in providing the necessary training to make the change.
The importance of being at work regularly and on time cannot be stressed enough. When you are absent or late, it places a hardship on the company to schedule and manage the business properly.
Sick and personal days are not compensated but accumulate at a rate of 2 days every 3 months for a combined total not to exceed 10 days per year.
Full time employees are eligible for unpaid medical leave of absence for medical reasons of temporary duration due to illness, pregnancy or injury. Employees who have worked at least 1 year will be eligible for a maximum duration of leave for no more than 90 calendar days. Reinstatement at the end of medical leave of absence cannot be guaranteed, however, an effort will be made to find the employee a suitable position when the employee is released to return. Unused vacation pay may be used during the medical leave of absence.
For the death of immediate family members including spouse, mother, father, in-laws, sibling, child and grandparents, 5 non-compensated days are given. If more time is needed, please consult with your supervisor.
For a death of a family member other than the immediate family, 2 non-compensated days are given.
