In the beginning of 2017, Stray Rescue of St. Louis had a Distemper outbreak in their facility. Distemper in dogs is a viral disease that is highly contagious via inhalation. This airborne disease has a very high mortality rate. In environments like Stray Rescue, where dogs are living and breathing the same air, canine Distemper can spread so fast, and unfortunately it did. Stray Rescue had to close its doors for a month and lost many dogs during this time. It was devastating. They took all the necessary precautions to make sure this never happened again.
Finding a Clean Air Solution for Needy Animals
The team at Hoffmann Brothers Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric were very saddened by the news of the canine Distemper outbreak and wanted to do whatever they could to help during this difficult time. Being a heating & cooling company, we have access to many different types of air quality products. One of these air quality products is called the Air Scrubber.
Installing The Air Scrubber – Our Best Air Purifier for Pets
An Air Scrubber is a purification system that can reduce the dangerous airborne contaminants along with mold, odors, and pollutants in the air. The Hoffmann Brothers team felt a strong desire to help so we donated and installed air scrubbers all throughout their facility at no cost to Stray Rescue.
After a heart-wrenching distemper outbreak that ravaged our shelter in 2016, we re-opened our doors with new procedures and protocols in 2017. Hoffmann Brothers Heating & Cooling, who has supported us for many years, were there for us during our time of need and lifted us up. To help our animals breathe cleaner air, and to help reduce air-borne bacteria in our shelter, they donated and installed Air Scrubbers throughout every room of Stray Rescue. Cleaner Air for Doggy Day Camp with Hoffmann Brothers
After installing the Air Scrubber for Stray Rescue, Hoffmann Brothers noticed how much that helped the animals and organization. So, we wanted to take it even a step farther. Many of our employees bring their dogs to The Watering Bowl, a local dog boarding and daycare facility with several locations. With any dog facility comes intense dog smells and the Air Scrubbers can rid this strong odor. So, we stepped in again to help, providing installation of an Air Scrubber for this location as well.
